IB Physics is not hard because the physics is exotic. It is hard because three things have to land at once: the concepts, the command terms that tell you exactly what the examiner wants, and the Internal Assessment that quietly carries 20% of your grade. SL and HL share the same core; HL adds the Additional Higher Level (AHL) topics and a deeper, more quantitative Paper 3. The grade boundaries are different, the time pressure on HL Paper 1 is real, and the AHL material (fields, induction, quantum and nuclear depth) is where HL grades are won or lost. We map every lesson to your exact subject guide and to the assessment objectives — AO1 (recall), AO2 (apply), AO3 (analyse and evaluate) — because the exam scores those, not vibes.
Command terms are the hidden syllabus. "State", "describe", "explain", "deduce" and "evaluate" each demand a different answer length and structure. Getting these right is often a one-band improvement on Paper 2 with no new physics learned.
